You need a travel-friendly beauty routine
To begin with, if you are someone who travels a lot then this is for you. Most of us love to travel even if it is for work, but trust me when you’re travelling most of the year, it can get pretty tricky to maintain a beauty routine. Of course, we all have a travel kit along with us at all times, but there can be some issues which can’t always be fixed with makeup. It gets even more difficult if you are a blogger or a professional who is travelling every day in and out. From my difficult experiences, I have tried to put together a list of things that will ensure a travel-friendly beauty routine.
Here’s a travel-friendly beauty routine for everyone!
Problem: Puffy eyes
Cause: Dehydration, lack of sleep, long flights.
What can you do: Carry face masks with you whenever you’re travelling for longer durations. It instantly soothes your face. For your eyes, a mix of an eye serum and an eye cream is the best combination for your eyes.
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery
This is probably the best skin care product I own and I swear by it no matter what. This is a product that repairs, brightens dark circles, hydrates and prevents from further damage. My all time favourite!
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye
Having continuous late nights or late flights? This can be one of the best products in your travel-friendly beauty routine. Apply some of this midnight recovery eye cream and wake up to younger looking eyes in the morning.
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream
The appeal of Clinique’s Pep-Start is simple: a lightweight, formulaically a straightforward eye cream that hydrates without empty promises which most brands who make eye creams does.
Problem: Sun protection
Need: Protect yourself from the harsh rays during sunny mornings. Using the right SPF will make sure you do not have fine lines and dullness as you grow older.
What can you do: To make the most of your travel-friendly beauty routine, you have to use SPF every day you head out of the room. If you are going out just to explore places, SPF 30 works just fine but if you plan to swim, using a higher SPF is beneficial.
Clinique SPF 50 With/Avec Solarsmart UVA UVB Advanced Protection Avancee Face Cream
The name might look quite tricky to differentiate but I bought this before I was going on beach vacation. Triggers a repair that helps prevent signs of aging. With solar-activated antioxidants that help prevent visible damage. Gentle enough for sensitive skins. Dermatologist tested. Oil-free.
Avene Very High Protection Sunscreen Emulsion SPF 50+
This Avene’s sunscreen is probably one of the lightest sunscreens with high SPF. Use it under your base or just when go swimming, you will not be disappointed.
Brillare Science Balancing Essential Sunscreen Radiance SPF 30
I have been using this for a couple years now. Brillare Science has two different SPF, 30 and 50. However, I like this formulation better than the other one since it does not make my skin feel oily.
Problem: Teeth whitening
Need: For obvious reasons unless you stay at home, you’re going to eat out. One big consequence of your dental hygiene could be whitening your teeth. If you make sure your teeth is always shining in your forever travelling schedule, the hats off! But for all the rest of you who suffer like me, I have a solution.
What can you do: Best is to use a whitening toothpaste along with mouthwash.
Colgate Sparkling Mint Visible White Toothpaste
The first time I found this product was 15 days before my wedding. I had all my dental care done by then but I still wanted my teeth to look perfect. I finally used the Colgate whitening toothpaste for a week and I was happy. This can definitely be a budget travel-friendly beauty routine you can follow.
Problem: Eyelashes
Need: Okay, to be honest, my eyelashes are not what they used to be when I was a kid. I had really dense eyelashes which now are about half and I am just 25 years old yet. Nonetheless, I have found a solution.
What can you do: For your eyelashes, I think one thing that can make you travel-friendly beauty routine easier is eyelash extensions. This saves you from the hassles of putting false lashes every day and looks natural. I am going to give this a try soon so I’d be able to review the whole process better. But, if you think you cannot wear lashes every day, try extensions. Otherwise, false lashes are here to stay forever.

Problem: Breakouts
Need: From all the flight travels, dehydration and eating irregularly or too much outside will begin to show on your skin as breakouts. With me, pimples are a usual thing especially if I have travelled in flights for too long.
What can you do: To start with, eat thoughtfully. If you think there’s going to be a considerate amount of carbs in your food, then make sure you pair it up with some salad. That way there’s a good amount of fibre going in too. Have cleaning wet wipes, face mist and gel cream handy in your bag. Stay hydrated and avoid sugar as much as you can. We always like to binge on food the first couple days, but then it should just be balanced for your body sake.
The Face Shop Chia Seed Soothing Mist Toner
Looking for a good mist for your travel-friendly beauty routine? This one by The Face Shop is extremely light on the face and gives instant hydration.
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate
I have done an elaborate review on this product and I can never recommend this less because this has helped my skin feel so much better.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser
I do not use cleansers so much but whenever I feel like it’s been a long dusty day then this works just fine without creating more problems like zits.
Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator
You must have observed that I have mentioned all or most products that are extremely hydrating and this is a gel based hydrating mosturizer. Your skin will begin to appear plump, dewy and glowing from the inside out for non-stop 72 hours. Now you know why you need this.
Kaya Refreshing Mattifying Wipes – Acne Free
The packaging is travel-friendly and the wipes definitely last for a good two weeks. The Kaya Refreshing Mattifying Wipes contains chamomile extracts and vitamin E; which are known to be highly refreshing and hydrating for the skin. The wipes have a very strong yet pleasant smell that instantly provides a fresh soothing effect during a hot day. So, if you are someone who has a problem with strong smell, please do not get this. But otherwise highly suitable for everyone.
Some things to remember
- There are several products I have given different options for. Pick whichever you think works best for your budget. But if you are looking at making an investment, do try the high-end ones too.
- All products work for all skin-types. There could be days when you cannot keep up with your travel-friendly beauty routine, but it is better to make a habit especially when you are travelling.
